Canadian Company Launches International Online Beauty Pageant
Central Casting Corp. has launched a new site that promises to revolutionize the beauty pageant industry by offering a fresh take on pageantry and glamour competitions.
Calgary, Alberta - Nov 10, 2005 -- Canadian based Central Casting Corp. has launched a new website called In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman. While the site has been live for only a short couple of months, already there are over 70 Contestants entered and active in the pageant from 15 different countries around the world. The concept behind the site is to revolutionize the beauty pageant as it is commonly known, and bring it into the new millennium full force. By creating a beauty pageant that is interactive and accessible twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week online, as opposed to an annual show, a much greater audience can be reached. This also makes participating in a beauty pageant much more available to women, and opens the door for women who might not normally participate in a large scale beauty pageant.
While the concept of an online beauty pageant itself may not be new, it has yet to be executed with the scale and level of professionalism exhibited by In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman. If you look in the right places you will find a handful of so called online pageants, but most of them look like low-end homebrewed websites and haven't been updated in a few years. This is where In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman is different, the site is quite nice to look at, is laid out well, and employs all the function of a modern interactive web application including log in, search, a forum, a unique rating system, as well as a personal message center allowing the members to communicate with each other.
In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman has eliminated the complicated eligibility restrictions found in traditional pageants. Most of these pageants require that you be older than 18 (except of course the junior and teen pageants) and also that you not be older than a certain age, 38 for Miss Universe. Not to mention numerous other eligibility requirements, rules and restrictions involving participations with other beauty pageants simultaneously. To enter In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman you must be 18, female, and have a good quality digital picture to upload, that's all. While one picture is required, as many as fifteen pictures may be uploaded by each girl to their profile.
Judging of the online pageant is done by the visitors of the website. Anyone that does not wish to participate as a Contestant is able to become a Judge and cast their votes. Rating is done on a scale of 1 to 20 and for the online portion of the pageant ratings are based purely on physical attributes. The pageant is actively being judged by over 140 participants in 33 countries around the world. Again In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman has broken away from the traditional way in which pageants are judged by letting the people cast their votes. In traditional beauty pageants the judging is done by a hand picked panel of ten or fewer judges, who may or may not be biased, they rate the contestants in a few different categories and physical beauty is surprisingly one of the least important.
Central Casting Corp. also has plans to televise the final pageant from Las Vegas to the world in an international television show entitled In Search of the World's Most Beautiful Woman.
